Jinguashi and Jiufen were famous for their gold mines. Many cultural sites and natural landscapes have been excavated, rebuilt and become popular tourist attractions in northern Taiwan. People can stroll among the traditional Japanese buildings and enjoy the landscape of the courtyard gardens, or go to the Jinguashi Shinto Shrine to view the original beam and column ruins of the ancient shrine, and look out at the magnificent sea and mountain scenery of the Pacific Ocean and Teapot Mountain.

Visitors can glimpse the wonders of nature in the Golden Waterfall as it cascades down from the golden rock face, with the gradient of the flow akin to a moving landscape painting.
