Aodi is located in Gongliao District, New Taipei City. It is a well-known seafood distribution center on the northeast coast. Because seafood is easy to obtain in large quantities and fresh, the streets along the Coastal Highway resemble a seafood street. The prices are reasonable, the ingredients fresh and universally recommended by foodies.

Aodi also occupies an important place in the history of Taiwan. It is here that the Japanese landed when they invaded; during the reign of Qing Emperor Qianlong (1735-1796), Wu Sha, a pioneering figure who crossed the sea and successfully led the people in reclaiming the Lanyang Plain, started his journey in Aodi and was buried here. Currently, the tomb of Wu Sha is a municipal historic site.
