Shumeiping Observation Deck is located at the highest point of the historic trail, about 500m above sea level. It is one of the best places to enjoy the beautiful scenery of Danshui, Jinguashi and Jiufen and has views of Wuer Teapot Mountain, Shuinan Cave, Jinguashi and Jiufen. It is also a popular spot for photographers.
In addition to the natural and primitive Shumeiping Historic Trail, Shumeiping is also a relay point for several trails. Going south is Diaoshan Historic Trail, head east to Caoshan Industrial Road, or walk along Ruishuang Highway to the end point of Xiaocukeng and Dacukeng Trails, the viewing platform also extends to Tsanguangliao Historic trail.
