“Wai'ao Service Area” is a bright yellow building that resembles a big ship and a paraglider. Standing in front of the entrance hall to the service area, it is almost as if Guishan Island in the distance is placed into the picture frame of the building, with an impressive landscape design. The design of the renowned Lanyang Museum was inspired by the cuesta on the coast of the northeast cape and combined with the natural landscape the building forms a cone, the outer wall showcasing the rural landscape of Lanyang Plain. The museum presents regular permanent exhibitions based on the themes of mountains, plains, sea and time. Occasionally, special exhibitions and school outdoor teaching activities are also held, making this an excellent destination for family visits.
