In the early years, people mainly lived by farming and traded agricultural products in exchange for daily necessities. As a result, Liuzhangli gradually became the hub of such trade between residents of Taipei and Nangang, Shenkeng, Shiding and other places. At first, it was mainly used to transport rice and wood and later tea, becoming the starting point of the ancient tea road. At that time, trading mainly took place in front of Fude Temple on Chongde Street in Liuzhangli.

Transportation in Liuzhangli is very convenient. Two of the parks are well-planned and offer rare green spaces in the metropolitan area. Fuyang Eco Park conserves rich natural flora and fauna ecological resources as well as military culverts, while Fuzhoushan Park is the best place to enjoy panoramic views of Taipei 101. The parks are quiet amidst the hustle and bustle of the city, and visitors can breathe in the fresh air, making them ideal places for residents to exercise in the morning and go hiking at the weekends or during holidays.
