The opening of the MRT brought a large number of people to the Gongguan shopping area, which has everything from clothing stores, opticians, specialty bookstores, and sports goods stores to art cafes, traditional snack bars, and exotic restaurants. Cross Roosevelt Road and go for a walk in National Taiwan University campus, where all kinds of azaleas bloom during azalea season, making it particularly beautiful. 

In the past, Gongguan was a building where tenant farmers paid their rent. Later, the local area was called "Gongguan" and that name is still used today.

In this areas the Danlan Cultural Trail waterway passes Treasure Hill and Gongguan Waterfront Plaza. "Treasure Hill" was originally a collection of illegal buildings built next to the mountain. Due to its special appearance, it was transformed into "Treasure Hill International Art Village," providing domestic and foreign artists with creative exhibitions. Gongguan’s "Museum of Drinking Water" covers a total area of 20 hectares and was the origin point for the provision of tap water in Taipei City. The Xiaoguanyin Mountain Reservoir is a secret historical site in Taipei, comparable to Turkey's "Basilica Cistern." The European-style elegant museum is a municipal historical site and a popular location for wedding photography. Xiaoguanyin Mountain in the area has an easy-to-walk mountain trail that takes about 30 minutes to complete. It is a rare forest-like green space in an urban area.
