Jinzibei Historic Trail was named after golden inscriptions on a tablet built in the sixth year of the reign of the Qing Emperor Tongzhi (1867). At that time, Taiwan division commander Liu Mingdeng led his troops to the north and took a path passing through Sandiaoling to Yilan. He felt that the road was rugged and steep, and wrote poems and inscriptions on the rocks of the mountain wall. Gold foil was later pasted into the inscription on the stone tablet installed in this location.

In recent years, Jinzibei Historic Trail has been promoted by the government, local governments and related agencies and gradually transformed into an environment-friendly manmade trail after being repaired and maintenance work. The trail is replete with history.

Standing on the top of the mountain, visitors can look out at Keelung Islet and Shuangxi, while enjoying the beauty of cloud and mist scenes in the mountains. Along the way, visitors pass several historic Land God Temples and centuries-old ancestral temples such as Yingma Temple. The sunrise and sunset can be viewed from nearby "Buyan Pavilion" with indescribably beautiful scenery.
