Adventurous hiker trails

Wufen Mountain is located at the junction of Ruifang District and Pingxi District in New Taipei City. As it is close to Keelung City, it is not too high and reasonably easy to climb. It is listed as one of the minor 100 peaks in Taiwan.

The trail starts at the rear of Xinpingxi Coal Mine Museum. Most of the mountain paths have stone stairs and the trail is well-renovated. There are towering trees on both sides with a small stream waterfall; as well as wooden chairs along the road for hikers to rest. There is a lookout pavilion near the end with an excellent view. On a sunny day, visitors can look out over Taipei Basin, Keelung Islet, the North Coast Highway, Ruifang and Pingxi.

The trail ends at "Wufen Mountain Weather Radar Station" of the Central Meteorological Administration. The two large white balls on the top of the station are eye-catching and easy to identify. The famous scenic spot  of "Shifen Waterfall" is also nearby and highly recommended.
