Adventurous hiker trails

The entrance to Dakeng Mountain Ridgeline Trail is located at the junction of Shuangxi District and Pingxi District in New Taipei City. Hikers generally walk this route with other trails in Dakeng Mountain and Neipinglin Mountain, following the mountain road down from Pinghu East Trail at the end.

The trails pass through primitive mountains and forests, and are mostly dirt roads. On the way, visitors pass an electricity pylon under which there is a cross-shaped viewing platform, which looks out over the scenery of Shuangxi, Tangjiao, Panshankeng and other places.

Nearby attractions and cultural relics along the route include the Taifa charcoal kiln, which produced coal in its early years and is still well-preserved. This is a remnant of Taiwan's coal industry history. In addition, visitors can also see Silk Waterfall cascading down a cliff-face.
