Zhongpushan Trail on South Road is about a 15-minute drive from the Xinyi Metropolitan Area in Taipei. It is a shortcut for urbanites to get away from the hustle and bustle or modern life and go back to nature. The trail connects to Fuyang Ecological Park and Fuzhou Mountain Trail. It is a mountain trail suitable for hikers of all ages.

The trail used to be an important route for residents of Shiding and Shenkeng traveling to Taipei City, and was also widely used to transport tea. Later, the area became renowned for its surrounding cemeteries, though these were gradually relocated, with the original mountain forest and greenery restored after the development and construction of the North Section of National Highway No. 3.

Entering Zhongpushan Trail from Fuyang Ecological Park, visitors can see the Taipei 101 building. On reaching Zhongpu Mountain Peak Viewing Platform, the view becomes more expansive and when the weather is clear, hikers can look out over Taipei Basin and the city lights at night.
