Tiaomi Historic Trail was previously used to transport rice to and from Wenshan and Nangang. The entrance is located at the bottom of Alley 100, Lane 600, Wuxing Street, Sanzhangli, Xinyi District, Taipei City. A striking red archway marks the beginning of the trail.

Dexing Mine, built during the Japanese occupation period, is located next to the entrance to the mountain. At that time, mining and farming were the two major economic businesses. However, with the decline of the coal mining industry the area was abandoned. In recent years, it has been restored and preserved as a cultural asset. Through the arched porch, visitors can enter the mine and experience the back-breaking work of coal mining.

Although Tiaomi Historic Trail was built during the reign of the Qing Emperor Daoguang (1820-1850), it was later renovated as a more artificial trail. The road is paved with cement slabs and has a railing. Follow the stone steps all the way up to Tiaomigong Temple, where the village scholars built a temple to pray for the peace of the country, rebuilt in 1981 with donations from the local faithful.

After passing Tiaomigong Temple, the end of the trail is “Xinpo Ridge,” about 100m higher up the trail. Visitors retrace the route of the trail down the mountain back to the starting point.
