Trekking along Sifenzi Historic Trail, visitors discover many historical sites, such as the Gujing Lake which is not far from the trail. The lake water comes from the 200-foot-high waterfall cascading down the rock wall. The lake is the size of a well, hence the name Gujing Lake and overflows to form a creek. On the route, visitors also pass an ancient brick and tiled courtyard house and an ancient stone Land God temple both of which have a long history.
Although the stone steps of the trail are covered with weeds and leaves, this gives them a more ancient feel. The historic trail is a relatively primitive mountain forest route with lush ferns growing on both sides. At the end visitors can continue along Dagemen Historic Trail, visit nearby trolley lane that used to transport coal miners, or stop to visit the renowned Hsu’s handmade noodle factory, where visitors can make their own noodles to take home.
