According to the Tourism Bureau, New Taipei City, the World Trails Conference is held once every two years. This year, the event took place in Santiago de Compostela in Spain from September 26 to 29. Representatives of the New Taipei City Government, Taiwan Thousand Miles Trails Association, and Qing-Yang Xiao Studio attended the conference, and the association’s representatives promoted Danlan’s old hiking trails and released a special article there.
A bureau officer noted that Xiao is the producer and director of Danlan hiking trails’ promotional film, which was selected as one of the seven films screened at the World Trails Film Festival. The film shows to the world a hidden treasure of the West Pacific Ocean - Danlan’s old hiking trails.
The film takes an unprecedented, creative cultural approach, first showing early settlers walking on Danlan paths, as accompanied by traditional puppetry and music. The film then demonstrates“handmade hiking trails” and Earth God beliefs passed down from early Han residents. Delving into the past and looking forward to the future, viewers can well learn about Danlan’s old paths and even the true meaning of life.
