Located in Jiaoxi Township, Yilan County, there are far fewer passengers at Sicheng Railway Station than Yilan and Jiaoxi stations. The sparsely populated and quaint station has made multiple appearances in movies and TV series. Wunuan Stone Bridge behind the station is a county historic site and used to be part of the main thoroughfare from Jiaoxi to Yilan.
Sicheng is full of history, and there is farmland and old cement-red-brick houses as far as the eye can see. When Wu Sha led settlers to Taiwan to open up the wilderness of Yilan, he was honored by later generations as the first to reclaim the area. He built a house and settled in Sicheng which is today the Wu Sha Former Residence Memorial Hall, where visitors can see cultural relics and books used at that time, many of great historical significance and academic value.
Sicheng is an important location on the Yilan Plain Line of the Danlan Old Trail. The famous Paoma Old Trail is also located in Jiaoxi and is the last section of the mountain trail South Route. It was also an important road used by early settlers to trade and transport materials between Taipei and Jiaoxi.
