Danlan National-level Green Hiking Trail

In the early years, people mainly lived by farming and traded agricultural products in exchange for daily necessities. As a result, Liuzhangli gradually became the hub of such trade between residents of Taipei and Nangang, Shenkeng, Shiding and other places.

Dakengwaigu Historic Trail is located here and was previously an ancient route used by Shenkeng tea farmers to sell tea in Liuzhangli. The 3km route passes through green bamboo forests and pastoral vegetable gardens, decorated with simple red brick farmhouses.

In the past, the main source of income for local residents was the planting of tea and the dyeing plant Strobilanthes cusia (Nees) Kuntze. Tea merchants and dye merchants who traveled between Taipei and Yilan used Shenkeng as their distribution center and this was the predecessor of Shenkeng Old Street.

Shicao is located in a secret location in Pinglin District, New Taipei City and most of the local residents are tea farmers. In recent years, the area has developed its own distinctive culture to experience village culture based on the natural habitats, and a series of themed tours are added with themes such as tea and indigo dying in Shicao and getting close to a tea garden etc.

In the early years, the Fengzilin Ferry wharf was a frequent and important cargo transfer station. At that time, our ancestors traded agricultural products, tea, coal and other goods from Danshui River to Xindian River and then to Shiding area.

Ninety percent of the water storage area for Feicui Reservoir is located in Shiding District, making it an important water source protection area. Because the water is sweet and pollution-free, the tea trees planted, osmanthus, and bean curd made with traditional methods are of the highest quality and are local gourmet foods for dinner parties.

Pinglin is the well-known hometown of tea and mainly produces Wenshan Paochong tea. With its natural environment of fine mountains and rivers, the tea is of the highest quality.

Bihu is located in the Pinglin District of New Taipei City, between Shicao and Sidu on the ninth section of Beiyi Road. Surrounded by mountains and green trees on both sides of the stream, the area is home to a wide range of flora and fauna.

Shipai is located between Sidu and Yilan, Pinglin District, New Taipei City."Shipai County Boundary Park" marks the junction of New Taipei City and Yilan County and is located at the highest point of Beiyi Highway.
